GREETINGS . . . . . . .

My name is Andy Sabisch and I began my treasure hunting career more than 45 years ago when my parents gave me an inexpensive metal detector for Christmas in the days before treasure hunting became main stream.  They figured it would go the way most toys do for kids that age . . . . relegated to the back of a closet after a few weeks after interest waned.  Surprisingly, my brother Chris and I stuck with it even though our initial success with that starter unit was far from impressive.  Not being old enough to drive, we hunted the schools, parks, beaches churches and private homes around our home in New York.  As we upgraded our equipment our finds increased and the rest is as they say, history.

My interest has remained high over the years and I have had the opportunity to try my hand at virtually every form of treasure hunting out there.  These include wreck diving along the East coast and Caribbean, prospecting for gold in the Northwest, Alaska, Canada, New England and the Southeast; detecting old ghost towns throughout the western states; hunting for bottles in New England; searching for artifacts from the Civil War and Revolutionary War in the United States and older battles in Europe; coin hunting throughout the U.S., Mexico, South America, Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia and attending more then 300 organized hunts and rallies.

I've always been willing to share the knowledge I've gained over the years with fellow treasure hunters through my writing and personal appearances at shows, seminars and hunts.  Since my first article was published in 1982, I have had more than 3,000 articles printed in dozens of different magazines and periodicals as well as 10 books that have been distributed around the world.

It's funny in a way that something that started out as what was expected to be nothing more than a passing fancy has remained a central part of my life.  My kids have grown to share my passion and often accompany me on my travels - doing quite well in their own right.

I'd love to hear from you . . . . . . . feel free to drop me a line or give me a call to share your experiences or ask some questions.
